Your Library Card
Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.
Who can get a card
Library cards are free to anyone who lives in Washington County and entitle users access to any public library in the County. In addition, Washington County residents may also obtain cards to access libraries in four neighboring library systems.
How to Get Your Card
Just bring your driver's license or ID, which must show your current address, into a Washington County library. If your identification does not have your current address, please bring a bill, or something similar which does contain your current address.
Borrowing Limits
Most items check out for 3 weeks. DVDs check out for 7 days. You may have a total of 100 items out on your card. You may have no more than 25 DVDs and 25 music CDs at any time.
Placing Holds
You may request items from other WCCLS libraries and them sent here. When items arrive, you will be notified by phone, mail, or e-mail. Your item(s) will be held for 10 days before they are returned to the loaning library.
Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Items may be renewed 2 times, as long as no one has placed a request for them.
Library Fines
DVDs are $1.00 per day. All other items are 15 cents per day. You must have less than $10.00 in fines in order to check out any materials.
